Many people experience bloating, gas, discomfort, or even diarrhea after consuming milk. This condition is commonly known as lactose intolerance.
The main reason behind this is the lack or low production of an enzyme called “lactase” in the body.
Why Some People Cannot Digest Milk
Milk contains a natural sugar called lactose. To digest lactose properly, our small intestine produces an enzyme called lactase.
π When lactase levels are low:
- Lactose remains undigested
- It gets fermented by gut bacteria
- This can lead to gas, bloating, cramps, and digestive discomfort
This is why many people feel that milk does not suit them.
How Lactase Enzyme Supplement Helps
Lactase supplements (such as lactase drops) help by breaking down lactose into simpler sugars:
- Glucose
- Galactose
These sugars are easier to absorb and usually cause much less digestive discomfort in lactose-intolerant individuals.
When you add lactase enzyme directly to milk, you are essentially:
βPre-digesting the lactose before drinking the milk.β
This can convert regular milk into low-lactose or nearly lactose-free milk, depending on the dose used and the time allowed for the enzyme to work.
HOW TO MAKE ANY REGULAR MILK LACTOSE FREE!
Step 1 β Add Lactase Drops
Add 5β7 drops of lactase enzyme into 250 ml milk.
π If you are mildly lactose intolerant: use 5β7 drops
π If you are more severely lactose intolerant: you may use up to 10 drops
Step 2 β Refrigerate the Milk
Keep the milk in the refrigerator for around 8 hours.
π For more complete lactose breakdown, you can keep it refrigerated for up to 24 hours
Step 3 β Drink It Normally
After this time, you can consume the milk as usual.
π The lactose will already have been broken down by the enzyme
Important Notes
- Milk may taste slightly sweeter after treatment β this is normal
- Effectiveness depends on enzyme dose and the time given
- It may not always become 100% lactose-free, but lactose can be reduced significantly
